No heat with a spinning drum points to the heating circuit. These are the components to check, easiest first.
Blown Thermal Fuse
A blocked vent overheats the dryer and trips the one-time thermal fuse, killing heat but not the motor.
Fix: Replace the fuse and — critically — clear the vent that caused it to blow.
Failed Heating Element or Igniter
Electric dryers use a heating element; gas dryers use an igniter and gas valve.
Fix: A technician tests for continuity and replaces the failed component.
Tripped Half of a 240V Breaker
Electric dryers run on two breaker poles; if one trips, the drum spins but there is no heat.
Fix: Fully reset the double-pole breaker at the panel.
