Water on the floor looks alarming but the causes are few and mostly easy to address.
Clogged Defrost Drain
Food debris freezes in the defrost drain, so melt water overflows the drip pan and runs out the bottom.
Fix: Flush the drain hole at the back of the freezer floor with warm water until it clears.
Cracked or Loose Water Line
The ¼-inch line feeding the ice maker can crack or work loose at its fittings.
Fix: Inspect the line behind the fridge and tighten or replace any leaking connection.
Overflowing Drip Pan
A cracked drip pan or one that is overfull on a humid day can drip onto the floor.
Fix: Pull the lower grille, slide out the pan, and check it for cracks.
