Refrigerator Water Dispenser Not Working

A dead dispenser is usually a frozen line, a clogged filter, or low water pressure. Here is the quick triage.

A water dispenser that trickles or stops entirely is rarely a major fault — start with the filter and the supply.

Replace the Water Filter

A filter left in too long clogs and chokes flow to a dribble.

Fix: Swap the filter every 6 months; flush two gallons through a new one before judging flow.

If the freezer is set very cold, the dispenser tube in the door can freeze solid.

Fix: Raise the freezer temperature a few degrees and leave the dispenser unused for a few hours to thaw.

Dispensers need at least 20 psi to work properly.

Fix: If other faucets are also weak, the issue is plumbing, not the fridge.
