Oven Cooking Unevenly: Fixes for Hot Spots

One side burning while the other underbakes points to a weak element, bad sensor, or air-flow issue.

Uneven results frustrate every baker. The cause is usually heat distribution, not your technique.

Check for a Weak Element

An element that only partly glows heats the cavity unevenly.

Fix: Watch it preheat; replace any element that does not glow uniformly.

Verify the Temperature Sensor

A drifting sensor lets the real temperature swing around the setpoint.

Fix: A technician can test the sensor resistance and replace it if off-spec.

Mind Air Circulation

Overcrowded racks and foil-lined shelves block convection.

Fix: Leave space around pans and never line racks with foil.
