Samsung appliances display specific error codes when something goes wrong. Here are the most common ones and what they actually mean.

Samsung Refrigerator Error Codes

  • 5E / SE: Defrost sensor circuit failure. The fridge may ice up or run warm.
  • 22E: Freezer fan motor failure. Freezer may stay cold but fridge warms.
  • 41C: Ice maker communication error. Ice maker stops producing ice.
  • PC ER: Ice pipe heater open circuit. Ice fill tube freezes and blocks ice maker.

Samsung Washer Error Codes

  • UE / U6: Load imbalance. Redistribute the load. If persistent, may indicate bearing wear.
  • 4C / 4E: Water supply issue. Check the inlet hose and water supply.
  • 5E / E2: Drain pump issue. Check the pump filter (behind the lower panel).
  • dC / dL: Door latch fault. Door not detected as closed.

Samsung Dryer Error Codes

  • dC / dF: Door switch fault. The dryer doesn't detect the door as closed.
  • HE / HC: Over-heat protection triggered. Check vent for blockage.
  • tS / tO: Thermistor fault. Temperature sensor has failed.

Samsung Dishwasher Error Codes

  • OC / 0C: Overfill — water level sensor fault or inlet valve stuck open.
  • LC / LE: Leak sensor in base triggered. Small drip may be the cause.
  • 5C / 5E: Drain fault — pump not clearing water from tub.
