Clean the Filter and Sump

Rotting food in the filter is the number-one source of smell.

Fix: Remove the filter, scrub it, and wipe out the sump area.

Grease and mineral film coat the tub and hoses over time.

Fix: Place a cup of white vinegar on the top rack and run a hot cycle.

Gunk hides in the door edges and seal folds.

Fix: Wipe these down monthly with a damp cloth.
