Microwave Door Won't Close or Latch

Inspect the Latch Hooks

The plastic hooks on the door can crack or stick.

Fix: Examine them for damage; a broken latch assembly should be replaced.

Clear the Latch Recess

Debris in the latch slots stops the hooks from engaging.

Fix: Clean out the recesses on the cabinet.

Door Switch Alignment

Misaligned interlock switches read the door as open.

Fix: A technician realigns or replaces the switch stack.
