Plenty of appliance issues are DIY-friendly, but a few are genuinely dangerous. Here is how to tell them apart.

Safe to DIY

Cleaning filters, clearing vents, and replacing seals are low-risk.

Fix: Tackle these with the power unplugged.

Call a Pro

Gas, microwave high-voltage parts, and sealed refrigeration systems are hazardous.

Fix: Leave anything involving gas, capacitors, or refrigerant to a licensed technician.

When in Doubt

A misdiagnosis can cost more than the original fault.

Fix: Our diagnosis is free with any repair — book a visit if you are unsure.
